Imploding the Mirage – the sixth studio album of the American rock band The Killers was released in July 2020 on Island Records. After the release of the Wonderful Wonderful album in 2017, the band actually left the founder and guitarist Dave Keuning, although he officially remains a member of The Killers. Another founder and bassist Mark Stoermer also reduced his participation in the group, but continues to play in some shows and recordings in the studio. The project was co-produced by multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Rado from the Foxygen band and renowned Canadian music producer Shawn Everett. This allowed the group to overcome the crisis and record a new album. The first single, Caution, was released March 13, 2020, and reached No. 1 on the Billboard and Rock Airplay alternative song charts. Fleetwood Mac's former guitarist Lindsey Buckingham took part in his recording, replacing Dave Keuning. As the cover of the album was used the picture of the American artist Thomas Blackshear "Dance of the Wind and the Storm."
