5SOS5 is the fifth studio album by Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer, released on September 23, 2022 via BMG Rights Management. 5SOS5 was the band's first album under BMG Rights Management. In this work, the increased performing skills of the collective in musical terms are especially noticeable. Released on March 2, 2022, the lead single Complete Mess immerses the listener in the alternative rock of the 2000s with its more mature and rather nostalgic sound. The video takes place in the desert and the band members can be seen going their separate ways. But in the end, they unite again and go to the blue luminous ball, personifying the place where songs, love and everything in this life are born. The quartet's second single, Take My Hand, was released on April 1, 2022 and is a testament to the hard work they have put in while in isolation and left to their own devices. The band's tour in support of this album and Calm (2020) is also named after this song. These two singles were written and produced by the band members themselves. Another song titled Me Myself & I was shared by 5 Seconds Of Summer on May 11, 2022. The idea of the composition was proposed by American musician and producer Jon Bellion, who acted as a co-author of this song. The premiere of the video clip took place in 2 days. The fourth single Blender was released unannounced on July 13, 2022, after 5 Seconds Of Summer started playing it live during the Take My Hand tour. The fifth single Older featuring Sierra Deaton was recorded on September 7, 2022.
