ABBA – Super Trouper
ABBA Super Trouper Track List
The mega-popular pop group ABBA released their seventh studio album, Super Trouper, in 1980. Record company Polydor again pulls out a happy lottery ticket, because the record is scattered in millions of days in a matter of days. The album has everything to please the army of fans: the track “Super Trouper” that doesn’t go below the top of the charts, the “creative report” about last year’s divorce from Agneta and Bjorn, which they sang in “The Winner Takes It All”, the customs of higher Stockholm Society in On and On and On. Even the cover of the record hints at the elitism of the quartet. The idea to photograph the members of the group surrounded by a jubilant crowd of circus artists came up with the designer Rune Söderkvistu. Filming in London's Piccadilly Circus was prevented by a law prohibiting street artists from being in that place. Then the photo shoot is transferred to the Europa Stockholm film studio and invited to shoot two Swedish circuses. In 1983, Polar Music International released the Super Trouper CD. In total, the album was reprinted 4 times, including specifically for US listeners. Atlantic Records in the late 80s made a special release for American fans of the group.
