Familia is the third studio album by Cuban-American singer-songwriter Camila Cabello, released on April 8, 2022 via Epic Records. A year and a half after the success of Romance (2019), on July 23, 2021, the singer presented the public with the first single called Don't Go Yet from the new album and revealed its title. On March 4, 2022, on the CBS evening show The Late Late Show with James Corden, the second single of the album, Bam Bam, was officially presented, recorded together with British singer and composer Ed Sheeran. The day before its release, Camila Cabello announced the release date of the album. The entire album was written during the COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021 and was inspired by two things: family and food. It all started with the fact that the performer, along with the famous author Scott Harris Friedman, wrote many songs. They then moved to Los Angeles where they met Mike Sabath, Ricky Reed, Cheche Alara and Edgar Barrera, who eventually became the album's producers. A week before the release of Familia, on April 1, 2022, the project's tracklist was announced. Celebrities such as Willow Smith, María Becerra and Yotuel took part in the work on it. On April 7, a day before the release of the album, Camila Cabello held a live performance called Familia: Welcome To The Family on the TikTok platform with an immersive effect, aimed at promoting her record.
