New Empire, Vol. 2 is the seventh studio album by American rap rock band Hollywood Undead, released on December 4, 2020 via Dove & Grenade Media and BMG. The album is a sequel to New Empire, Vol. 1, which was presented to the public on February 14, 2020. The project was again produced by Matt Good. On July 31, 2020, the first single was released, as well as a video for the song Idol recorded together with rapper Tech N9ne – this is one of the highlights of the album. This track is really very relevant, although it has a sense of darkness and bounce with its dubstep choruses. It has a catchy dark sound, pulsing guitars, bass and backbeat, and an interesting transition to the piano bridge. The album also ends on a very high note. Featuring Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach and Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills, Heart of a Champion is the adrenaline rush at the heart of the album. It is energy, fun and the brightest point, which were so lacking throughout the entire album. Spencer Charnas frontman did a great job with the choruses. The rap is great here, full of life and pace as Jacoby Shaddix hooks in to finish the song in his own way. It's a really good song with a catchy chorus and great performance, so luckily the record ends on the highest note.
