Firepower is the eighteenth studio album of the British heavy metal band Judas Priest in its 40 years of existence, released on March 9, 2018 via Epic Records. This is the first studio album since the release of Ram It Down in 1988, where Tom Allom again performed as a producer. In November 2015, Richie Faulkner said in an interview with Reverb.com that the band will begin work on a new album next year. In April 2016, American online magazine Loudwire, dedicated to hard rock and heavy metal, published a photo of Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner at work in the studio in the process of recording a new album. On January 5, 2018, a video for the song Lightning Strike from the upcoming album was released on YouTube on the official channel of the group. February 1, 2018 on YouTube on the official channel was presented the song Firepower, with which the album will begin. The music videos were also shot for Specter and No Surrender. On February 12, 2018, it was announced that Glenn Tipton would miss several concerts of the tour in support of the new album due to the aggravation of Parkinson's disease. Firepower sold 49,000 copies in the United States during the first week of its release, taking 5th place on the Billboard 200 chart.
