Lorde – Solar Power [2021]

Lorde Solar Power Track List

Solar Power is the third studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on August 20, 2021 via Universal New Zealandruen. Lorde became a pop superstar at 16 with her hit Royals, winning two Grammy Awards and then releasing her second album, Melodrama (2017). Solar Power is based on the artist's reflections on fame, boredom and the aftermath of a tumultuous youth. Thanks to producer Jack Antonoff, a more muted sound appears in the new work, when the singer identifies herself with an ordinary 24-year-old girl who has found peace with herself and wonders what will happen next. Musically, it's acoustic pop, psychedelic folk and indie folk, with lyrics revolving around a summer escape from high life to their homeland, New Zealand, while contemptuous of the fame and culture of celebrities. The cover for Solar Power came about by accident, thanks to a photo of her friend on the beach as the singer jumped over it. It came out a little tough and wild, but quite cheerful. For environmental reasons, Lorde ditched CDs, releasing Solar Power for digital music platforms, streaming services, and vinyl records.
