Revelación is the fourth album by American singer Selena Gomez was released on March 12, 2021 via Interscope Records. It was released in EP format and for the first time in Spanish, which the singer has dreamed of for the past 10 years. To achieve the desired sound, Selena Gomez has partnered with producers such as Albert Hype, DJ Snake, Jota Rosa, Maro, Neon16 and Tainy. In it, the singer focused on the themes of strength, love, forgiveness and moving forward. Revelación was supported by three singles: De Una Vez, Baila Conmigo, featuring Puerto Rican rapper and performer Rauw Alejandro and Selfish Love, created in collaboration with French DJ and music producer DJ Snake. The album combines the genres of Reggaeton, Electropop, Latin Pop, R&B and Alternative R&B with elements of urbanism. This is a clear departure from the traditional dance-pop music of its predecessor, Rare (2020). Upon release, Revelación received acclaim from music critics who voted it as the singer's best project on Metacritic. Due to the pandemic and the associated lockdown, the album was recorded almost entirely remotely in a home recording studio. For the correct pronunciation, Selena Gomez hired a language coach, Leyla Hoyle-Guerrero, who helped to restore her Spanish vocabulary, work on her accent and practice her slang. Now Selena Gomez is thinking about ending her musical career. Perhaps the success of the mini-album Revelación will be the deciding factor in this decision.
