The Weeknd – After Hours
The Weeknd After Hours Track List
After Hours is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer The Weeknd, released on March 20, 2020 via XO and Republic Records. We can say that this is the most conceptual album, where the performer showed more of his personal self than it was in Starboy (2016). The story of a split in relationships, mental problems began back in EP My Dear Melancholy (2018) and served as a prologue, and After Hours continued this story. What is happening here cannot be argued with ingenious texts or an innovative approach to music. This album takes on more atmosphere and energy. The record was produced by such celebrities as DaHeala, Illangelo, Max Martin, Metro Boomin, OPN, and The Weeknd itself was co-produced and songwriter. The songs smoothly replace each other. The only noticeable changes in the mood and tempo of the instruments, when the performer moves from the usual R&B to 80's disco. After Hours can be easily divided into two parts. The first one starts with Alone Again and immediately sets the tone and mood of the whole album. It reflects on broken heart and loneliness. Completes the first chapter of Escape from LA, which talks about fame, cars and money, which he managed to get thanks to his girlfriend. On that note, The Weeknd leaves Los Angeles. In Heartless, the musician takes us to vibrant Las Vegas. Here he returns to his former vicious life, trying to hide his sadness and broken heart in it.
